About

Our History

Darren C Gollshewsky is a lifelong fish enthusiast having bred and sold black mollies successfully since the age of ten. Even then he noticed the lack of clear advice in the field which spurred him to seek out in-depth aquarium books, conduct research and learn from knowledgeable mentors in the field.

In 1982 Darren began working at his father’s nursery and seized the opportunity to convert an old greenhouse to breed tropical fish for sale. This small venture grew over time into Sea-Base Aquariums which currently boasts over 90 aquariums and multiple varieties of fish.

Darren’s decades of aquarium experience and research have made him a significant contributor to the industry as well as a highly sought after consultant for Aquarium stores Australia-wide.

FishTech Global represents the culmination of his latest venture, a massive study of over 280 ornamental fish species’ resistance to medications and susceptibility to diseases. This 12-year project yielded over 10 000 hours of research, over 400 videos through the microscope and 42 gigabytes of information. All of this has been distilled into an algorithm for optimal fish care and aquarium maintenance.

Our Difference

FishTech Global is the first system of its kind to be offered anywhere in the world and is based on rigorous long-term research that has never before been performed at this depth. The protocols within the system are effective, user friendly and simple enough to implement even as a newcomer to the industry. The subscription includes a 24/hr hotline that provides timely assistance and advice in the event of an emergency.

Our Mission

Aquarium retailers have in some circles developed a reputation for acting unprofessionally when it comes to the sale of aquarium fish that are carrying pathogens. There is much more to this issue than meets the eye. Managing, controlling and quarantining live aquarium fish is complicated, so much so that it is beyond the abilities of some experienced aquarists and university-trained biologists. This difficulty level becomes an even bigger issue in large franchised shops with high turnover rates for staff and little or no training in fish disease management.

FishTech Global exists to simplify the process of delivering high-quality, responsive, data-driven care to aquarium fish. This removes the need for staff to await training from wholesalers’ representatives in order to perform the necessary interventions or to ring up an expert. By following simple daily sheets from FishTech Global, even new staff with minimal training can do all that is needed to dramatically reduce fish mortality.
