How It Works
The System
Aquarium management is complicated. The abundance of oversimplified or inaccurate information on fish diseases only makes it harder to get to solutions in time to make any difference.
We undertook 12 years of research on over 280 species of ornamental fish and analysed the data we collected to develop a fool-proof disease management system that prevents unnecessary losses.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1
Subscribers to FishTech Global provide details of their aquariums, water volume, number of aquariums, species of fish and filtration via an online form.
Step 2
We log this information into our Algorithm to generate a daily medicated feeding for the fish to manage internal pathogens.
Step 3
We provide access to our extensive training videos to deliver detailed and relevant training to staff on chemical handling, storage, OHS requirements and other topics as needed.
Step 4
As a new shipment of fish arrives and begins the mandatory 5-day quarantine, the client submits a form on our website with information on aquarium codes and fish species received.
Step 5
Fish species are broken into 7 groups with each group receiving a different medication and dose dispensed in order of probable Primary and Secondary infections.
Step 6
We begin sending a daily email containing the dosing requirements of all relevant medications with online videos and email and phone support available for clarification as needed.
Step 7
After 5 days the fish are introduced to the aquariums and our daily emails will provide the dose rates and medications for the individual aquariums on a simple sheet.
Step 8
Each time new fish arrive, the daily dose sheets reset to week one, day one.
In Conclusion
Our system successfully treats external bacterial diseases, all forms of external parasites, internal worms and flagellates. The only problem not treated on initial quarantine is gram-positive bacterial infections but this condition is rare and we have a post quarantine system in place for that.
